Visitors - Welcome to the Clarkston Area
Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes you to this edition of the
Chamber’s Community Guide and Directory which is published and
distributed by Sherman Publications, parent company of the Clarkston News and
Penny Stretcher.
Founded in 1987-88, the Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit
business organization whose mission is to promote and enhance business
opportunities in the Clarkston Area for our members. With over 600
members, the Chamber of Commerce hosts, partners and promotes many community
activities and events including Concerts in the Park, Taste of Clarkston,
November Business EXPO and the December Clarkston Lights Parade.
The majority of our business members own or work for a small business with less
than 12 employees. Many of our members live in our community, are active
in one or more community service organizations and volunteer for events and
activities that benefit youth, business, community, seniors, open spaces, parks
and recreation and more.
Our larger corporate members are committed to building community and are active
on a variety of local Boards and committees. Working together, Chamber
members help businesses build their business while creating a strong sense of
customer loyalty throughout our community.
Take time to look through this publication and be sure to visit some of the
Chamber members and business advertisers in this book, as well as the public
and private facilities we have in our community.
If you are not a current resident of the Clarkston area, we invite you to take
time and visit all aspects of our community. Those of us who are
residents, feel that this is an excellent place to live, raise our families and
build your business. If you relocate here, it will take a very short time
for Clarkston to become your hometown too.
