Clarkston Village Players was founded in 1961 by a small group a local teachers. Since then, we have grown to include members from all walks of life. Our all-volunteer organization produces 5-6 plays annually, as well as several special productions. Our Youth Theatre program draws students ages 10-18 from local schools every summer. Our belief in live theatre as a form of entertainment and education has helped us produce plays that are enjoyable, as well as create thoughtful discourse.
Being a Chamber member has allowed us to expand our advertising base for our season ticket packages, individual shows, and special productions. We have gained new advertisers in our program each year as a result of our membership in the Chamber.
Our next big project is the replacement of the deck that was built some 20 years ago. Our handicapped ramp is part of this project and is the only access our disabled patrons have to our building, so it is imperative that we complete this project. Through fundraising, we are nearly halfway to our goal of the estimated $20,000 needed.
