Clarkston Village Players

Clarkston Village Players was founded in 1961 by a small group a local teachers. Since then, we have grown to include members from all walks of life.  Our all-volunteer organization produces 5-6 plays annually, as well as several special productions.  Our Youth Theatre program draws students ages 10-18 from local schools every summer.   Our belief in live theatre as a form of entertainment and education has helped us produce plays that are enjoyable, as well as create thoughtful discourse.

Amyloidosis Foundation

The Amyloidosis Foundation is a non profit established to support research for the rare disease amyloidosis. Amyloidosis is the buildup of amyloid proteins in the heart, kidneys, liver or other organs.  We also provide resources to patients to find knowledgable physicians and provide informational publication about the disease, it's diagnosis and treatment.

Esthers Children

ESTHERS began in 2007 with a vision to prevent exploitation and trafficking of women and children living in vulnerable and at-risk situations globally.  From 2007 until 2010 we had a rescue home in Recife, Brazil where we served 18 girls who were all living in extremely vulnerable conditions.  Today many of those girls are thriving as mothers and micro-business owners.  One of those girls received a scholarship through ESTHERS to finish High School in Michigan at Oakland Christian.  Veronica was the first person in her family to go to High School and after graduating she went on to college

Clarkston Rotary

Clarkston Rotary Club is a part of an international organization called Rotary International. We can use the leverage that comes from being part of a 1.2 million member organization to do larger projects, both locally and internationally. Last year we were able to get a 50% matching grant from Rotary International to help us buy a van for Lighthouse of Clarkston. The same process also allowed us to purchase 600 pairs of glasses for children in Kenya. The project we are best known for is our Shoes for Kids program where we outfit 400 children with shoes, boots and mittens every year.

Oakland Mediation Center

Oakland Mediation Center (OMC) is proud to offer a wide variety of community-based services for youth and adults. Mediation Services includes but is not limited to, matters of all types such as small claims, landlord tenant, general civil, real-estate, divorce, parenting time, special education, elder and foster care. Our Legal Services department was created to serve individuals who do not qualify for free legal aid but cannot afford traditional legal representation. This program works on an income based sliding scale.

Clarkston Independence District Library

"The Clarkston Independence District Library, which serves Independence Township and the Village of Clarkston, is excited to announce a new community business conference space that is due for completion in late February. This new space, available at NO COST to Chamber members,  will include private conference seating for 8 and state-of-the-art technology suitable for presentations or demonstrations with clients or colleagues. Members can reserve this space in advance and food will be allowed.

Clarkston Area Optimist Club

The Clarkston Area Optimist Club supports “Bringing Out the Best in Youth” in Clarkston.  The club has worked for 32 years in the community to support youth activities.   The club gives funds to just about all the places that kids are studying, working or playing, including Kids Standard magazine, for book talks at North Sashabaw Elementary, the Clarkston High School and Clarkston Junior High School construction clasess, O.At.T.S., Miracle League, CHS Senior Picnic, Bailey Lake Garden, Clarkston Community Farm, Clarkston High School Apiary Club and Clarkston Junior High School Leadership.

O.A.T.S.

O.A.T.S. was founded in Clarkston in 1997 and although we moved to Ortonville in 2017, we still think of Clarkston as our home.  O.A.T.S. which stands for Offering Alternative Therapy with Smiles is a non-profit, therapeutic horseback riding center.  More than 100 riders benefit from the program each week.  O.A.T.S. therapeutic riding programs are tailored to the needs of each rider, with the overall goal of developing as much independence as possible.  O.A.T.S.
